A short history . . .

In 1997, K. Omer spotted an opportunity to start a label putting out good dance music made by his friends. Since then, CBR has grown steadily along with the demand for good dance music. With this in mind and a limited budget, the task was set.

On 1/8/98 CBR released its first single, Hoax's 'Starsky & Hutch' a remake based on the Tom Scott classic, and featuring the Hammond playing of Eddie Stevens (Freak Power).

Soon after that Chocolate Boy's working relationship with Steven Meade and Danny Langsman, AkA, 'Doolally' and Shanks and Bigfoot started. Working under the names Dollally and Shanks and Bigfoot, the partnership brought a new sound to CBR.

The first release under the name Doolally was one of the big tunes of 98, 'Straight from the heart'. The track went down well with the masses, and with a little help from DJ Steve Jackson, and all at Kiss FM, it reached No. 20 in the national charts after being given a full UK release on XL's recording label, Locked on.

CBR next commissioned 2 tracks from Sacrosanct, in which vocalist Loretta Hayward teamed up with Steve Swindles to produce 'The door', and 'Hypnotize'. Additional mixes where provided to add different flavours, and with Loretta's vocals giving both tracks that magical edge, both tracks just pour out quality.

Following their success with 'Straight from the heart', 'Doolally', morph into Shanks & Bigfoot, to have the freedom to produce fresh new material. Their first release was a 4 track record, with the totally original name of 'The E-P'. Putting all their freestyling grooves and obese bass lines to good effect, producing a record fit for any DJ's box. Their second single is the anthem 'Sweet like chocolate', and was written by Steven and Danny as a thank you to Chocolate Boy for starting them on their way to stardom. The two have now signed to Zomba and are due to release their first album in the later part of the 1999.

New as well to CBR this year is its imprint label, Chocolate Boy Fudge. Future releases will include The amalgamation of soundz's. "The World", featuring the vocals of Yvonne Webbley, and with additional mix's by Eric Kupper(USA).

Sacrosanct's 2nd single, 'Hypnotize', again featuring Loretta's great vocals has mix's to suit most taste with a menu that reads, Chris Bemead, original mix, Scartch perverts (hip hop), London Electricy (Drum & bass), Problem kids (house).

Japan was the birthplace for another new release, after months of negotiatons, CBR has managed to licence a track from File records, in which Loretta Haywood teams up with Major Force, to produce the track 'Tribe of love', love TKO. This was first a hit in the early 90s on Japanese import, and very hard to find. CBR hope to change that by giving it a full U.K release, and have called on the talents of Ashley Beadle to create additional flava's.
